Exposure
to dust, chemicals, noise and vibrating tools can cause injury, illness
or disease. Although there are now strict health and safety laws employers
still fail to comply with their obligations. Some people suffer from
conditions that have been caused by many years of exposure. BRM can
help you to claim.
Industrial diseases include:-
Hand/arm Vibration Syndrome - People
who have worked with vibrating power tools and machinery can develop
problems in their fingers, hands and arms. The most common condition
is called Vibration White Finger. It is possible to claim for this condition
if there has been exposure after 1975.
Hearing loss - Excessive and prolonged exposure to noise
at work can cause hearing loss and tinnitus. Hearing loss often arises
over a number of years and many people assume that it may just be a
sign of getting older. Tinnitus is where noises can be heard in the
ear without any external cause.
BRM
has a bank of specialists able to prove whether or not hearing loss
and tinnitus is caused by noise at work.
Chest disease - Exposure to dust, chemicals and fumes
at work, can cause several types of chest disease. BRM is claiming compensation
for hundreds of people with chest diseases caused at work.
If you have suffered any industrial disease you could be entitled to
compensation. Even if you had a close relative who has died from an
industrial disease you could still make a claim.
